inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter

President's Message

Susan Odom Houze

Greetings and welcome to the website of the Inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated. Established in 1979, as a local chapter of the Links, Incorporated, the Inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter is dedicated to enriching the lives of the community through a variety of programs and events for those who need our aid.   The chapter has a rich legacy and I am extremely excited to serve as the 18th chapter president.

The Inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is an organization comprised of women of African heritage who are committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the identities, culture, and economic survival of all people of African origin through cultural, educational and civic programs. For the last 44 years, we have earnestly planned and executed meaningful events to support initiatives via programs that integrate the goals of our national organization’s five facets: The Arts, Services to Youth, International Trends and Services, National Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services.

Through partnerships, we promote activism to help bring about positive change that transcends time, race and socio-economic differences. The Inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter members give generously of their expertise, financial resources and service to implement National and Area initiatives. We have also supported numerous community service projects and made substantial contributions to local and national charitable organizations. Inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter has provided over $500,000 in resources to the Inglewood and greater Los Angeles community. Community service, friendship and leadership epitomize the essence of the Inglewood Pacific Chapter.

In this role, I feel a strong sense of obligation to ensure that I continue to create an environment that encourages our members to strive to do some good in our service area and stay on the path that was paved by our Chapter Organizers, Charter members and former Chapter Presidents.  The comfort is that I know that I can rely on our organization’s tenets of friendship and service to be the type of leader that enables our Chapter members to be the best versions of themselves so they can continue to be a blessing to others.

Humbly,

Susan Odom Houze, President

Inglewood Pacific (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
